Home Health Aide Course
#HHA 100
This is an 80 hour program which consists of 45 hours of class instruction and 35 hours in a clinical skills lab. This program qualifies the graduate to work at visiting nurse associations, hospices, assisted living facilities, and home health care agencies.
Topics covered include home health care, long-term care, patients' rights, elder abuse, communication, aging, end-of-life care, infection control, nutrition, personal care, rehabilitation, common diseases, emergency procedures, and more.
Tuition: $1,200

A $200 deposit is due at the time of registration, and the balance is required on the first day of class

Requirements to participate:

You must understand, speak, read, and write in English

You must pass the pre-entrance exam of reading comprehension with a minimum score of 90%. Call us to schedule the pre-entrance exam.

You must bring a picture ID with you on the day of the pre-entrance exam
What immunizations will I need for this program?
1. COVID19 Vaccine
- All incoming students MUST be vaccinated against the COVID19 virus and be at least 2 weeks out from their final shot. Proof of vaccination is required. You will not be able to start class without providing proof of vaccination ahead of time
2. A flu shot is also required during flu season (October-March).
3. Negative TB test.
-TB test must be negative and read within 1 year. If you have had a chest x-ray that must be done within the past 5 years
4. MMR
-Proof of being immunized against Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
A current physical performed within 1 year will also be required.
Do I need a social security number to take this program?
All incoming students will be required to provide proof of their social security number. This is needed in order for us to process a Criminal Offender Record Information request. (CORI). A social security number is also required in order to sit for the Massachusetts Nurse Assistant Certification Exam.
